The business of God
This is the website of Tony Kessinger who has spent most of his adult life working in the field of banking and finance. During that time he has been active in postgraduate studies honing his business skills. In 1977 the Lord introduced Himself in a real way in Tony's life. As a result, an intense desire for knowing more about God's Word motivated him to change his focus toward post graduate study. Tony earned a Masters of Art degree in Religion and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Religion. Many times over the course of his study Tony was asked why he was pursuing these degrees. After all, he was a businessman. Just before receiving his masters degree one elderly lady offered her opinion saying, "I know why." Being skeptical but curious, Tony replied, "Why?" With a wry smile, the elderly lady responded, "So that you will be prepared when God decides to use you."
It was the wisdom of that elderly saint that paved the way for Tony to wait for the Lord to show him just what He was preparing him to do. Little did Tony expect that ten years later he would begin a teaching ministry that would take him to Africa, Asia, Europe, the Caribbean, Central America and South America.
Tony teaches a Bible Study class of over 100 each Sunday morning at First Baptist Church Melbourne, Florida. Trying to coordinate these mission assignments, teach regularly, and work daily in the world of finance to make a living is quite a challenge, but one certainly worthy of the effort.
